OK actually for whatever reason it wasn't as bad as I thought. Apple will "repair" it (?) with the symptom of "won't charge" for $99 + shipping, even out of warranty. I was assuming it'd be the full $499.

@james_clark Hades Canyon was considerably better because it had the Radeon Vega graphics integrated. Ghost Canyon is a step far beyond that, of course, since you can install a real mini-itx video card; this one has a RTX 2070 "mini"
