@james_clark I got the midrange i7-9750h version -- I don't personally see the point of Core i9 overkill in that small of a form factor -- and during memtest (I just built it), it is surprisingly quiet.

@1nfinityLoop make sure the nose bridge is beefy, is the only thing I can advise. It has to fit tightly around the nose or you're gonna have a foggy time with glasses

the reason I say this is I've tried a number of masks and found quite a big difference in comfort & ease of use between them. Plus the whole glasses and nose bridge effectiveness thing.

@RichDapice no, just the "best" 100 titles for the respective platforms. For example the GBA had ~1500 games. Nobody wants to scroll through all those. Nobody sane, anyway.

@Pinboard I would strongly *not* recommend that QVO drive. Get an EVO or a Pro. I have a 4TB QVO and it has very *very* odd performance characteristics. It's basically a tape drive.

@stephentyrone At minimum we saw 1.8x improvement going from 2013 Ivy Bridge to 2016 Skylake. I'd expect that gets up to 2.0x or slightly more with the additional clock speeds / better turbos in Kaby Lake and Coffee Lake.

@stephentyrone b. isn't really true. Skylake was a big deal. I agree that the ever-more iterations of skylake were kind of marginal improvements (Kaby Lake, Coffee Lake). Also the low end E3 Xeons we use are identical, they just "enterprise" them with a label (and ECC support)

@mathowie @discourse my point is we have ~40 people at the company and implementing 2FA hardware support took us like a few weeks, maybe one month, for one engineer. Compare with companies that have hundreds or thousands of employees.

@stevesi it's.. possible. ARM is wildly underrated, specifically the Apple A11, A12, A13 are so crazily off the charts good and they get like zero serious press about this. I guess others will figure it out ... when they figure it out. Invest accordingly.
