@djbaskin I would have raised a formal complaint, but I was kinda impressed the kit built up properly as a valid clone of a fairly complex LEGO friends build, except with subpar fit and finish in a few areas

@djbaskin there was no way to tell from that ebay ad, other than the kinda-too-good-to-be-true price, that you would be getting a clone and not the real LEGO product. *Every single picture* showed the real LEGO box, build, product #, etc.

@djbaskin I also had to solemnly vow to my daughter, the one who had to build it, that we'd never ever ever ever get fake LEGOs again. I'm more careful now. If the deal looks too good to be true for that kit.. it is.

@djbaskin hmm, these bricks were of palpably and visibly lower quality than the legos that I've seen before though. Fit was worse. The kits *were* complete however and you could build them to look nearly identical to the real thing. But the listing was 100% a trick!

@djbaskin There are a LOT of sketchy ads for chinese clone products though. I ordered two lego kits from ebay that looked 100% legit (per screenshots and descriptions) but were lower-quality clones on arrival. I have other examples as well..

@jlericson another thing that works EXTREMELY well is to build a demo Discourse site using CSS styling that makes Discourse strongly resemble the old site (not exactly, just "enough"). Can't recommend that enough. Seen miracles worked that way.

I've also uninstalled, uninstalled + deleted any files, and rebooted. Many many times.

Both machines are on the exact same version of Windows (I get updates first after every install), same physical machine hardware, same bios, and I'm installing Win 10 Minecraft from the same account in the Windows App store. Yet one machine consistently keeps getting 1.15 beta.
