JQuery and their ilk are really about true platform/browser independence. They're sort of like .NET and Java runtimes in that regard.

wow, so JQuery.fadeTo() is pretty much incompatible with ClearType in IE7. Particularly bad for us because we fade to 50%. Looks HIDEOUS.
