The crazy f-ed up thing about this, is if I "prime" my mind by mentally saying the word I want to hear just before I hear it, I hear it that way (at the midpoint of the slider, anyway). Mind. Blown.

@FanlessTech My point is that "perfect silence" is basically unattainable and an unrealistic goal. The white noise of a single large low-rpm fan is quite.. pleasant. And *vastly* easier and cheaper to attain. Safer too (if RPM controlled)!

@waxpancake I would actually go so far as to say @jkottke was wrong in this "don't look" advice. When it comes to moral wrongs like racism, sexism, bigotry, etc looking and seeing is critical. I do appreciate and understand your point on linking, though.

@JohnONolan it's interesting because we have zero of that bad GitHub experience at Discourse, and we're 139% all-in on GitHub. I strongly believe this is because we don't allow issue reporting there, AT ALL. You should do the same.
