Thing is, all your desktop 4k options are really bad. Hackintosh? Linux-on-the-desktop? Windows 8.1 frankenstein edition? LAWL.

The only real hope is that "Metro"/Modern apps are fully desktop capable in Windows 9, and everything moves to that.

Windows is so profoundly bad at high DPI that I just don't care about 4k displays. It is beyond awful on the Surface 2 Pro.
