@devioustree Learn the things that will help you the most across *all* languages is my main point. I mean, nobody *enjoys* UNIX command line but it dominates the entire f'ing world. That's the reality, so we should face it and not run from it.

@devioustree @siracusa "dismissing your career" is your interpretation of the dialog here. Nobody's career is being "dismissed", I created Stack Overflow and I have strong opinions about these kinds of things, because I feel strongly that knowing SQL and regex will help people. 🤷

@devioustree @siracusa sure, additional methods are fine, I think it's worth noting just how misguided the AppleScript mistakes were. And basic regex really isn't that difficult to understand; sort of like "I don't want to learn SQL, I will just use 5 layers of .Query.Order.Sort.Group"

I guess that makes sense; starting with a count of "how many total tweets has this person created?" is how you'd avoid a tremendous amount of per-minute work for a tweet deletion bot. Sort of like the difference between filesize check (cheap!) and CRC/hash (very expensive!). https://t.co/YnOWrIt8gQ
