arrgh, another change overwritten due to a developer's failure to merge/update before push. Sigh. I guess we just suck at DVCS.

In my opinion, mercural/dvcs doesn't reduce the pain of merges, it just makes merging something you do SO OFTEN it becomes second nature

bottom line: the flexibility of DVCS does come at a price, IMO. It is *way* more flexible, but what if you don't need flexibility?

Ideally, source control should be invisible, and I sure have to *think* a lot while using Mercurial (at least right now as a noob).

switching to Mercurial from SVN has not magically made my life as a developer any easier. Kinda the opposite, actually..
